Wedding Wednesday: 5 Things Your Wedding Coordinator Wishes You Knew Before Your Wedding Day
There are a million little pieces that go into a wedding day — and most of them are things you probably never had to think about before planning a wedding.
That’s normal. You’re (hopefully!) not doing this every weekend. Your wedding vendors are.
So, for this week’s Wedding Wednesday, here are five things we wish every couple knew before the big day:
1. Your timeline is going to change - and that’s okay.
Something will probably run five minutes late. Someone will disappear when it’s time for photos. A boutonniere will take longer to pin than anyone expected. A vendor might get stuck in traffic.
A good timeline gives us structure, but it also gives us room to adjust when real life happens.
2. Someone needs to be the point person - and it shouldn’t be you.
Vendors will have questions. Family members will need direction. Someone will need to know where the extra candles are or when the DJ should announce dinner.
You should not be answering those questions while you’re getting married.
3. Your vendors need more information than you think.
Addresses, arrival times, contact information, setup instructions, special songs, family dynamics, transportation plans — the more everyone knows ahead of time, the fewer questions there are on wedding day.
4. Tiny delays can snowball.
Ten minutes here and fifteen minutes there can suddenly turn into dinner being late, sunset photos being rushed, or your reception timeline shifting.
That’s why we build in breathing room wherever we can.
5. You are allowed to enjoy this.
Seriously.
You spent months, maybe years, planning this day. When it finally arrives, your job is to marry your person, soak it all in & make memories.
Let somebody else worry about the clipboard.
That’s exactly what we’re here for. 🤍
