Wedding Wednesday: Please Stop Giving Yourself Jobs on Your Wedding Day
We say this with love:
You are getting married. You are not working an event.
You should not be answering calls from the florist while you're getting your hair done.
You shouldn't be explaining to the DJ where his table goes.
You shouldn't be texting your cousin to find out whether Grandma made it to the venue.
And you definitely shouldn't be carrying centerpieces in your wedding attire.
Wedding days come with questions. Lots of them.
Where does this go?
When should we start?
Who has the rings?
Can we move this table?
When should Grandma walk?
Where is the photographer?
Someone needs to know the answers.
That someone does not need to be you.
Whether it's a professional coordinator, trusted friend, family member or incredibly organized human you've appointed for the day, choose someone who can become the point person.
Give them your timeline. Give them vendor information. Tell your vendors to contact them with questions.
Then put your phone down.
You've probably spent months, maybe even years, planning this day.
You deserve to actually be there for it.
Tripoli & Co. Wedding Wednesday Tip: Your wedding-day to-do list should contain exactly one major task: get married.
