Wedding Wednesday: Your Wedding Timeline Needs More Breathing Room Than You Think

One of the easiest mistakes to make when creating your wedding-day timeline is assuming everything will happen exactly when it’s supposed to.

Hair will finish at 1:00. Everyone will be dressed by 1:15. Photos will start at 1:30.

Easy, right?

Until someone can't find an earring, a groomsman disappears, Mom needs help with her dress, the photographer wants just one more photo, and somehow the 15-minute drive to the venue takes 27.

The solution isn't planning every minute of your wedding day. It's actually the opposite.

Build in breathing room.

Give yourself extra time while getting ready. Leave space between photos and the ceremony. Account for guests taking longer than expected to move from one location to another. And don't schedule important moments so tightly that one small delay throws off the entire evening.

Those little buffers might look unnecessary on paper, but on your wedding day? They're gold.

Because the goal isn't to have a wedding that runs like a military operation.

The goal is to create enough structure that you can actually enjoy it when real life inevitably happens.

Tripoli & Co. Wedding Wednesday Tip: If your timeline only works when absolutely nothing goes wrong, it needs more time.
